Our Products

Raw dairy is ‘live’, easy to digest and bursting with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, microflora and immune boosting properties!  We sell our own Organic Raw Milk; Raw Butter, (either lightly salted with Halen Mon Anglesey Sea Salt, or unsalted); sumptuously thick Raw Cream; Buttermilk and grass fed Ghee made from our own butter.  Also we have a newly launched product that is regarded as ‘The Holy Grail’ of the Dairy Industry; our Raw Yoghurt available in a thicker ‘Greek Style’ or ‘Natural’ made from our organic skimmed milk, by artisan methods.  This yoghurt only contains milk’s natural sugar (lactose) and there are no added ingredients – just natural raw skimmed milk and yoghurt cultures and is suitable for vegetarians.

The Hailsham Herd

 The Hailsham Herd

Longley’s Farm is approximately 140 acresjust north of Hailsham, East Sussex, situated on the very western edge of the Pevensey Levels which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (S.S.S.I.  In 1998 the farm was converted to organic methods and the pastures are completely free of fertilisers and pesticides, working in harmony with maintaining and enhancing this important and wonderful local ecology. We also have Organic certification from The Soil Association who issues our license each year once we have evidenced that we meet their standards that cover all aspects of food production, from animal welfare and wildlife conservation, to food processing and packaging.  We consider the cows’ welfare and health are paramount.  Cows in a conventional herd produce nearly 50% more milk than our cows.  This means our Kates, Idas, Biddys and Rowena’s and Ruby’s are not under so much pressure and stress.  Our cows benefit from this lower yield and lower stress by not being prone to stress related cattle health problems, such as mastitis and lameness.  Indeed, our cows on average live to be 8 or 9 years old, compared to the national average of 6 years old.

The Benefits of Raw Milk

Hook and Son Raw Milk

Raw milk is completely natural and has not been processed in any way, maintaining the nutritious elements and good bacteria that are destroyed by pasteurisation. Our raw milk is a very different product to the pasteurised, homogenised milk you buy in supermarkets.  It is fresh, as nature intended and will taste pure and will be bottled as fresh as possible.  You can also try our fabulous raw butter, either lightly salted with Halen Mon Anglesey Sea Salt, or unsalted and our sumptuously thick raw cream.

The Moo Man

The Moo Man

Stephen Hook is ‘The Moo Man’.  This is a film made about the remarkable story of Steve and his unruly cows, filmed over 4 years on the marshes of the Pevensey Levels.  In an attempt to save the family farm, Stephen Hook decides to turn his back on the cost cutting dairies and supermarkets and instead stay small and keep his close relationship with the herd.  However, farmer Hook’s plans to save the farm do not always go down well with his spirited cows; the result is a laugh-out loud, emotional roller coaster of a journey and shows the incredible bonds between man, animal and countryside.
