Romy Gill Evening

Spend Friday night in the company of Romy Gill MBE. Chef and Owner of Romy's Kitchen in Bristol, she is a Slow Food Ambassador and recent Masterchef judge.  Join her for an evening of chat and food. 

She'll be sharing her passion for seasonal produce, her tricks and tips for creating amazing indian food and answering all your questions.  There'll also be some delicious food to try.

Romy's Story -

Born to Punjabi parents in Bengal, as a child Romy has always enjoyed food, visiting friends houses to sample all sorts of different dishes from seafood-centric dishes or spicy mutton curries to maacher jhol, a Bengali curried fish stew.

When she came to England 22 years ago her dream was to open her own restaurant! However, there were two main mountains to climb! One, the industry was dominated by men and Two, Romy had no formal Chef training.

However, Romy was not detereed and offered her time in kitchens for FREE! She also got expereince in cookery school and held regular dinner parties to entertain guests to continue her passion for cooking Indian cuisine. This led to her opening her first catering business and then in 2013, the dream came true and her resturant was opened!

Romy's kitchen, located just outside of Bristol serves modernized West Bengali dishes. A special favourite and crowd pleaser is the chicken makhani which always sells out!
