SILK TOP HAT GALLERY - COOKING POTS AND DRINKING GLASSES
There will be an extra Isaac Smart’s showcase over the Ludlow Food and Drink Festival weekend of 9th – 11th September bringing together our ceramic artists and glass makers. We will show pots by Jason Braham, Ralph Jandrell, Corinna Kenyon-Wade, Elspeth Soper, Mary Stephens, Jewels Williams-Peplow and Ruth Gibson and glasses made by Andrew Sanders and David Wallace. All the exhibits will be kitchen or table ware.
Combining traditional techniques and inspired by historical artefacts, glassmakers Andrew Sanders and David Wallace produce a wide range of functional and decorative glass which is unmistakably contemporary. Their designs include vases, bowls, bottles, paperweights and drinking glasses. They comment, ‘Although we work in close collaboration we design separately ensuring a broad and diverse range. Each piece is made individually and so some variation in form and colour is to be expected.’ Each piece is unique and signed by the maker.
