Talks and Demonstrations are FREE of charge unless otherwise stated and take place at two main locations inside the castle. There is a huge programme of events, from the Michelin Friday, which takes place on the Graeme Kidd Stage, to demonstrations and talks from food writers and 'hands-on' workshops for children. Please check the day you plan on visiting to get the most relevant information.
Building up to September and our 22nd year, we have already lined up some great demonstrations for you as well as our 2nd year of 'Talks and Tastings' to be held in the Inner Bailey.
On the Friday, the lovely Marcus Bean will be hosting his 'All Stars' Top Chef Friday on 'The Graeme Kidd Stage - the FULL LINEUP will appear on the website a couple of weeks before the festival.
We are grateful to WOTs Cooking for their sponsorship of the Demonstration Stage area
Cookery Demonstrations are a huge part of Ludlow Food & Drink Festival and www.wotscooking.co.uk have run both stages for us supplying compere, sound and vision for many years.
You’ll be able to see close at hand what the chefs are doing as Glyn will be keeping his eye on the camera (that’s if he remembers his glasses) and Katie will keep you up to date with what is happening on the stage at all times.
Katie, Farmer turned Broadcaster and Writer, worked as a Presenter & Producer for BBC radio for 15 years and Glyn continues to do so, now in his 36th year. During this time, having been invited to present events, they became hooked and now Food, Drink & Gardening Shows are a big part of what they do and love every minute of it - www.wotscooking.co.uk
This will be the 8th year that Glyn and Katie Johnson from www.wotscooking.co.uk have run both stages for us supplying compere, sound and vision.
The Graeme Kidd Stage is located prominently in the Outer Bailey of the castle - this is the large grassy area that you get to immediately after passing through the admissions desks.
The Wots Cooking Stage is located in the Inner Bailey of the castle. To reach it, cross to the far end of the Outer Bailey and walk over the 'dry moat' bridge.
We are grateful to Netherton Foundy for the use of their pans over the weekend, pop along to their bursary stand in the Outer Bailey over the weekend!
For all free demonstrations and talks, space is limited. No reservations - first come first served. Please try to arrive five minutes before the start time, to help us to start punctually.
Taste Workshops are led by expert producers or chefs who will guide you through a tutored tasting of selected food and drink. Booking is essential!
For 2016 we have the very popular Pork Pie Making, Sushi classes, Butchery and Thai Green Curry. Book early places are limited.
