Tell us what readers can expect when they find you at the Ludlow Food & Spring Festival?

We will have the full range of g.org.e chocolates and truffles to taste (and buy!), including our brand new raw organic chocolate bars and chocolate coated mango which we are launching at the festival.

The whole g.org.e range is made from raw, organic superfoods and nothing else. Just pure indulgent chocolate that is actually good for you.

How did g.orge truffles start?

Like a growing number of people, we have a passion for eating well – clean, healthy, organic, no sugar, no dairy, no grains and no junk. As sufferers of gluten, dairy and soya allergies we realised that what we ate was the key to good health, and so fully embraced the need for change –  actively taking responsibility for our own health. Our dinner plates became picture perfect and super healthy. There was one big snag however – we’re also fully committed chocoholics!

Finding great tasting, high quality and healthy chocolate seemed impossible. There were plenty of chocolates that fitted the profile but they either contained large quantities of sugar substitutes (xylitol, stevia, coconut nectar, agarve syrup) or whilst being healthy, the taste was, how shall we say…a bit too healthy. We wanted chocolate! Not a health food which tastes a bit like chocolate.

And so g.org.e truffles were born – created within the principle of eating for health without compromising on taste. A rich, indulgent chocolate which allows eating to remain one of life’s great pleasures.

What is special about g.orge truffles?

The whole g.org.e range of rich, indulgent chocolate and truffles is made with no added sugar, no sugar substitutes, no dairy, no gluten, no soya and no colourings, flavourings, preservatives or emulsifiers.

We are suitable for coeliac, diabetic, vegan and paleo diets. Most importantly however, we are suitable for even the most dedicated chocoholic who want an intense chocolate hit without any nasties.

What is our best-selling product? Why do you think this is?

Our selection box of 24 raw organic chocolate truffles is probably our biggest seller. Customers, including those with allergy’s or restrictive diets, seem to love the fact they can feel decadent and indulge in a beautiful box of chocolate truffles knowing they are actually doing them good.

With all that has been achieved in your business so far, what are you most proud of?

It has been great to voted amongst the top chocolate companies by reviewers like The Independent, but equally it always makes us feel super proud when people let us know how thrilled they are to find something they can eat that tastes so great. We recently had lovely message from a woman who said that she actually cried with joy after years of being unable to eat conventional chocolate!

What are you looking forward to most about the Ludlow Food & Spring Festival?

Having recently relocated to Herefordshire from Berkshire it will be great to meet some of the locals! We love taking a wonder around and meeting the other companies, and it will also be a great way to get feedback on our new chocolate bars that we are launching at the festival.

Quick Fire Get To Know You Questions:

  • Favourite Colour? Green
  • Favourite Food? Chocolate (just as well really…)
  • Favourite tipple? Love a fizzy water with fresh lime
  • Favourite Restaurant? Eating out is tricky because of allergies, but the local pub does a great steak.
  • Favourite place to visit the Marches? Still finding time to visit everywhere I want to, but nowhere really beats being in the garden with family and friends, listening to the birds signing and looking over at the mountains. Whilst eating g.org.e truffles of course…
