Smoker and Curer of Food In three words describe Wil’s Smokehouse:
ORGANIC VEGETARIAN SMOKEHOUSE
Tell us what readers can expect when they find you at the Ludlow Food Festival?
Seriously tasty, smoked, organic, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free foods with attitude. We will be giving lots of free tasters of our organic smoked marinated pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and introducing our new product seeds with almonds and smoked vanilla.
How did you start?
As a family we have been curers and smokers of food for over 60 years but 15 years ago we diversified into smoking organic vegetarian seeds, nuts, spices, garlic and oils.
Have you got a favourite product? Why?
Our favourite product is our original product, Organic Marinated Pumpkin and Sunflower Seeds. We are very proud of this product - it has taken years of experimenting with our recipe and the combination of different woods to create a mild, delicate smoke.
What is our best-selling product? Why do you think this is?
Our best selling product is our original product, Organic Marinated Mixed Seeds. We only use the finest organic raw materials, every batch is hand produced, we use no E numbers, preservatives or any added oils and all the wood we use is local Herefordshire hard wood.
With all that has been achieved in your business so far, what are you most proud of?
We are most proud of producing high quality organic products and receiving positive feedback from our customers, which is the only accolade we strive for.
What are you looking forward to most about the Ludlow Food Festival?
Meeting our customers old and new and embracing the great atmosphere generated at the Ludlow Food Festival. Everyone is eager to taste new food and drink that is locally produced in the surrounding area. The Festival is a superb weekend for all.
