SATURDAY EVENING FUN & ENTERTAINMENT
In response to demand from visitors and exhibitors, the 2006 Festival saw the Food and Drink Fair inside the castle staying open later.

For 2007 we're planning an alfresco evening of Food, Fun and Entertainment in the Market Square, a free cabaret performance, and some comedy thrown in for good measure. In 2006 it all worked very well, and the glorious weather ensured a great atmosphere and a fun evening. Details

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY CLOSURE OF KING STREET,  HIGH STREET AND CASTLE STREET - SAFETY FIRST
At the request of the police, King Street and High Street - the main streets leading from the Bull Ring to the Castle Square - will be closed to vehicles on Saturday and Sunday 13/14 September (only), for safety reasons. This allows pedestrians to use safely the whole width of these streets when walking to the castle, and also whilst taking part in the Sausage Trail and the Festival Loaf Trail.

Previous years traffic-free streets seem to work well, with festival-goers enjoying the care-free environment as they discussed the merits of rival sausages and bread competition entries!
