PRICES AND LOCATIONS:
DEMONSTRATIONS AND TALKS are free of charge* unless otherwise stated, and take place at three main locations inside the castle, as well as at the Corve Street Fringe.
The Precious Earth Demonstrations Stage is located prominently in the Outer Bailey of the castle - this is the large grassy area that you get to immediately after passing through the admissions desks.
'Olive' magazine Demonstrations Stage is located in the Inner Bailey of the castle. To reach it, cross to the far end of the Outer Bailey and cross the bridge into the oldest part of the castle.
The Graeme Kidd Pavilion Stage is located in the Castle Gardens of the castle. To reach it, turn right out of the Outer bailey are or access it from the Inner Bailey through the one way system
The Corve Street Fringe - Saturday only - is situated halfway down Corve Street, on a site opposite the Tesco supermarket, and on the way to the bus stop for the North Park & Ride bus. The Fringe has a range of food and drink-related stalls (information here) as well as a Local to Ludlow Cooking Marquee.
Taste Workshops are all chargeable (tickets can be bought in advance). These take place inside the Beacon Room in Castle House, which is accessed in the Castle Garden area (turn right after passing through the admissions desks). Tickets for Taste Workshops can be bought at the stand next to the entrance to the Beacon Room, or in advance from this page. Full details of the Taste Workshops here.
For all demonstrations and talks, space is limited. No reservations - first come first served. Please try to arrive five minutes before the start time, to help us to start punctually.

10.45 am - Rachel Green: Making the Best of the Great - British Sausage.
Rachel Green has made a name for herself by her passionate and committed championing of British produce. She has several television series under her belt - from ITV Yorkshire's Flying Cook and World on a Plate, to Kill It Cook It! Eat! On BBC3 and Farm of Fussy Eaters on UK TV Style. She will be talking about her new book, Sausages - Making the best of the Great British Sausage.
11.45 am - Vegetarians v Carnivores
Henrietta Green, founder of FoodLoversBritain.com is widely recognised as the expert on local and regional food. An award winning food writer and broadcaster, one of the judges on ITV's Taste the Nation, she was recently dubbed "A Champion" by leading eco-warrior Zac Goldsmith for her work. She will be chairing what promises to be a lively debate - Vegetarians v Carnivores, what does the Future hold?

Last years young chef winner, Andy Thomas demonstrating with local produce. Come along and see how future chefs do it.

Harry Eastwood is a presenter of the hugely successful Channel 4 series Cook Yourself Thin and will take us through a few recipes from her latest book, Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache. This shows how Harry has pioneered a way to bring cake into our everyday lives by introducing ingredients from the vegetable garden. No recipe is included that is not thoroughly delicious and each one has its own health benefits
3.45 pm - Master Brewer Alex Barlow
Master Brewer Alex Barlow is a leading flavour presenter featured at Taste festivals, Beer festivals and Ready, Steady, Cook as well as Ludlow's first Beer & Bangers festival in May. He is co-author of the award-winning ALL BEER GUIDE. Alex demonstrates the diversity of beer and the secrets of matching beer and food with a broad range of tasty examples

Staff from Self Help Africa, our partner charity, will prepare the staple dish of many African countries, known variously as nshima, ugali and mealie meal. Come along, get involved and have a taste.
11.45 am - Mr Underhill's Desserts
Chris Bradley, owner and head chef at Mr Underhills, Ludlow's only Michelin starred restuarant with rooms, takes us through desserts Michelin style. Unmissable opportunity to sample some of the very best desserts in town.

Daren Bale, head chef from Elms hotel - talking about making cheese and demonstrating cooking with local cheese

Making the most of Nature's rich harvest - Tina Bricknell-Webb of Percy's Country Hotel taking us through some of the recipes from her new book.
4.45 pm - Preserves with Lin Whitehead
Lin Whitehead from the Holly and the Ivy cooking with local produce and her very own range of preserves.

Our counties top chefs compete against each other using local ingredients. Come along and support your favourite and see what they can come up with in the short time allocated.
12.45 pm - Shropshire Students Cook-off
Chef Sean McNulty, professional chef and Chef Lecturer,Radbrook Campus, Shrewsbury College, will create a meal using a surprise package of local ingredients. The chefs will be assisted by students from Ludlow School and Radbrook College.
1.45 pm - Richard Johnson's World of Food
Richard Johnsonhas fronted several prime-time television series for the BBC - including Full on Food and Kill It, Cook It, Eat It - and is one of the judges on ITV's Taste The Nation. He is a regular contributor to the Food Programme on Radio 4. Today he's giving us his personal take on the world of food. From food criticism to "eating local" when you're surrounded by the light-industrial units of West London. Richard also promises to announce some exciting plans for his new food festival (with a difference) in 2010.
2.45 pm - Auction of Cookware
Auction of Run Cookwear half the proceeds to Self Help Africa. This is a great chance to grab a bargain while supporting a very worthwhile cause. Visit the Run Cookwear stand in the Inner bailey to check out what's on offer and get a demonstration.
3.45 pm - Best of the Marches Awards
The prize giving ceremony for the trails and competitions will be announced here. The accolade of being the best in The Marches is a highly coveted position and several businesses and individuals will have been waiting for this moment since last years event.

All Michelin Friday - Day of Star Chefs
A full day of entertaining demonstrations by a selection of the Countries finest chefs. Demonstrators include Ludlow's own Will Holland Head Chef at La Becasse who gained his first well-deserved Michelin star this year; and Alan Murchison, owner of La Becasse and the Michelin starred L'Ortolan.

The professionals will be judging the sausages from the trail, come along and see if they agree with your choice!
